Hiya, hoping somebody will be able to help me on this one.

I ordered a double bed and matching shelving unit from a well known mail order company late January time and was told it would be here on 5/2/10. Ok.

But, when item was delivered it was a PLASMA UNIT (very heavy long awkward box to store) with, wait for it, SOMEBODY ELSES NAME & ADDRESS on it!! My address sticker had been put on the side also, although the manufacturers printed on the box the details of the plasma unit. I was told by the men to sign for it and arrange a return or else it would be charged to my account. But no bed....

After calling the mail order company, they said the bed is on its way and would be with me later on that week - fine (another day wasted waiting in), and the shelving unit needed to ordered again, delivery expected in another 3 weeks!!!!! (Obviously the unit went to the lady who the plasma unit belonged to).....

Anyway, the bed came, and the unit finally arrived at the end of last week, put together and am really pleased with it. Just went to write a review on the website saying how pleased I am with it, and the ruddy thing is now about £80 cheaper all in.............. so annoyed!!!!

Can I ring up and complain about that? Has anyone ever done this??

Thanks in advance!!

You can ring and complain, it may not get you anywhere as you have no rights in the matter, you were quite happy to pay the price that you did.

Ring them by all means but dont hold your breath.

Would you have paid the extra if it had gone up? I understand the frustration, but that's life. let it go.

It happens to people all the time,I think nearly everyone could state a time they bought something and then it was reduced.

Can you complain?Well nobody can you stop you complaining about anything but to be honest it's a waste of time.Stores have sales and reductions, you can't expect them not to reduce because others have paid more

  • i bought some curtains from littlewoods direct/very at the end of last year, they took a while to be delivered and on the day they were delivered i noticed on the site they were half price (i originally used a discount code so half price worked out to be £10 cheaper than what i paid)
so i called them up (not really expecting them to do anything, but if you don't ask you never know) they said the price is what it was at time of ordering etc but as a goodwill gesture they credited the difference to my account.
but mine was only £10, don't know if they would do it for £80 , you can only try :)
Can you see the mountains through the fog?

  • Nice one mate
  • Well done.

To be fair, you could have rejected the item under the DSR and then re-ordered at the lower price.
  • Would have been a pain in the neck to send back and re-order it seeing as though we have already put the thing together and are sleeping in it!!! ;)
