Peugeot 206 Radio dead after new battery fitted

Hi all,

Had a new battery fitted on Saturday in my peugeot 206 (Y reg, 2001) and since then my radio has been completely dead (I've had to put the code in previously when battery had run flat then was jumpstarted). The display is completely blank and nothing happens at all! We've looked at the fuse box under the steering wheel and all seems ok in there (checked relevant fuse and it was fine, replaced to check and still nothing).

Can anyone suggest anything to help?

Thanks.

Have you checked both fuses for the radio. Is anything else not working, interior lamp, clock etc. Is there a fuse on the back of the radio.
  • Thanks for your reply.
The interior light, clock and display lights up (all bar the odometer display which hasn't been visible in daylight for a while but you can see it in darkness when the display is lit up). We've checked the fuse that the handbook says is for the radio (number 18 which is 10amp) but you say another is possible? How do I remove the radio too? It is just the bog standard original with tape deck!

There are usually 2 fuses for a radio, switched and permanent power supplies. One of them is usually marked as the radio but the other is often on a list of other items and needs the handbook fuse list to find it.

To remove the radio ....... http://www.fitaudio.com/?View=entry&EntryID=11
