descaling Tassimo

Just wondering what others have used to run the descaling program on their Tassimo or similar machines.

I see you can buy the liquid/tablets from Bosch but at £8 a pop they aren't cheap

Thanks

I use vinegar in my Gaggia - dilute it 50:50, fill the water tank then run the machine for a few minutes.

Working fine after 8 years if daily use
  • white vinegar or malt or doesn't it matter? Thanks
  • Denture tablets, alka seltzer tablets or epsom salts but you have to rinse well and run the machne through twice to get rid of any residue but you have to do this with any shop bought descaler anyway
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I used malt vinegar as it's all I had. Thinking back I pumped the vinegar through then left it for a few minutes standing in all the pipework.

I had a lot of scale on the plastic pipes which sit in the water tank. After 5 minutes it wiped off.

Removed water tank and ran it until dry. Filled water tank with clean water and ran this through the machine.
