New Job, new account?

Hi im new! Im having some trouble deciding on a bank account. I've had a savings account with Lloyds TSB since i was 14 and now i have started my first proper job offshore. Ater my training period of 6 months my salary will increase from 25-30k to 45-50k (although this will depend on how often i am working offshore) At the moment my salary is going into my savings account. There must be a better type of account that i can put my money into that has better interest rates and more general benefits than a savings account. This is what i need some help with.
If you have any suggestions please let me know!!
Thanks
