I had a crazy moment and changed the whole wedding theme, but my mum loves my dress!

Fab colours - when do you get married?
  • So pleased that you're happy, always think outside the box, the day is about you, if you're colorful people, make sure it shines through on your day!
It looks fab by the way!

it looks amazing - love that cake x well done on going with what you want rather than what's expected!
When my mum told my Dad some of our ideas - felt flowers and real cheese instead of a cake etc She said to him - "it's a bit quirky isn't it?" and he replied "well it suits" - biggest complement ever!

We are having a chedder cheese wedding cake too, for the later evening nibbles, i absolutely lurveeeeeee cheese, so this is a big thing for us and as oour guests wont be eating until late we thought this would be a great snack for around 10pm along with crackers breads and pickles & relishes.

Im so excited, we have a meeting with the venue tommorrow and i cant wait to tell them ll my wacky ideas, they old me the crazier the better as they love wedding ut like a totally unique one every now and then. And nothing seems to be too much trouble anything i ask for they do it, no questions asked.

  • Looks amazing - good on you for doing what's right for you and h2b
  • Well done for following your heart, must be a relief. Now you can really have fun.

I'm getting married on 30th July 2010 and although it's not exactly traditional (e.g. the bridesmaids are having all different style dresses in different shades of blue, we're having a cheese tower and a cupcake tower etc.) it still feels a bit stuffy as we're having a 3 course sit down meal with an evening buffet and dancing. Our venue is just beautiful and I wouldn't change it for the world but I'm worried that the day we've got planned doesn't really reflect how fun our relationship is.

Does anyone have any ideas to make it more fun that would fit into a traditional venue?

How about having someone pop up at random and start singing?! I just saw these people in a wedding magazine and thought it was mad!

Can you put out some silly party poppers or such like on the tables so that people can have a bit of fun during the meal if you're scared it'll be too stuffy? At a ball I went to they handed out pea shooters before the meal started and it was great fun... although it turn into an all-out war!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!
