floor boards showing through new carpet

Last Tuesday, we had new carpet and underlay fitted on stairs and landing. We are now seeing the groove/ gap between 2 floorboards through the carpet on the landing. We were away from Thurs to Sunday so it hasnt been hardly used.
Is this common or should we get the fitter back out?

You should probably have fixed the floorboards first. We had a similar problem with our bathroom when we were getting vinyl fitted. My father-in-law tried to fix the floorboards, but without replacing the whole floor he could only do so much. When the fitter came to lay the vinyl he warned us that it would wear quicker due to not being an entirely flat surface.0

Could be the PADDING. Ask your carpet guy.0

Assuming there isn't a catastrophic fault with the carpet, you could try overlaying the landing floor with hardboard, it's less than a tenner a sheet (8'x4') relay your carpet and underlay on a nice smooth surface. We've done this lots of times for customers after having had remedial works done.
Hope this helps
