Low pressure in boiler - costly fix?

Hi,
I've recently moved into my first house. It's got a Worcester Bosch 24i Junior boiler which looks about five years old - I don't think it's a condenser boiler, just a combi.
I've noticed the pressure has dropped on the boiler and a small amount of water has leaked out of the bottom onto a plastic storage box I am keeping in the boiler cupboard.
Sorry, I'm just not very technical!! Is this sort of thing generally a costly fix or is it just a question of replacing a pressure valve? Or is it a 'piece of string'-type question and I won't know till I get a plumber out?
Many thanks,
CW

Sadly you won't really know until someone has a look at it.
It could simply be a loose fitting or an 'o' ring leaking, in which case you should not be charged much more than a standard call out.
But then it is a Worcester!!0 -
Have you tried opening the filling loop to see if you can increase the pressure.
Most Combis should run at between 1 and 1.5 bar of pressure i believe
Not a qualified view just had to do mine though as i lost pressure when bleeding a couple of rads
Filling loop is a piece of corregated metal hose(bit like a shower hose) situated under the boiler or maybe under the sink with two valves on
You just need to open both valves to allow more water into the system
May Help!! but if your not sure leave it to an expert0 -
you can remove the cover and have a look, you are allowed, it may be a loose fitting or a leaking heat exchanger, could be anything realy, but a photo may make the bit of string a lot shorter than it is at the moment and could save you a few hundred pounds0
