  • You need to discuss it with them. They have given you 33 weeks to repay. Often they will give you the same time to repay as it took to build up. If it took longer than 33 weeks to accrue the debt they may be prepared to extend the repayment period to that time.
  • What letter have you received so far? Is it the first bill? Is it based on actual readings?

£15 per week for a £500 debt isnt to bad
  • If it takes you 33 weeks then unless you cut your consumption then you be in same mess next winter unless you put some money a side

What you need to do is compile a 'statement of income' (or whatever its called) which details all you income and outgoings. You then use this to discuss you ability to repay your debt. Under their licence when they install a ppm to recover a debt they can only recover it at a rate that you can afford. I have known of people owing 00s who only replace £3-4 a week.

    Hi kelly2285

If you are unable to repay £15 per week back for the debt accrued on the gas account, I'm sure we will be able to extend the payment arrangement to around 12 months which will lower your debt setting to around £10 per week.

There are a number of factors which are taken into account. Contact us to have this debt setting lowered or send me your details and I will arrange this for you.

    Kind Regards
