House Prices Going Crazy Again

It's in Ireland so I don't know how things work there. I think I confused you by mentioning we were nearby in Scotland - but it's a ferry trip away! But if Doire is correct that prices have dropped by 40% then the price a few years back would be something like £250k...which still seems very cheap.
I don't know of anywhere in Scotland where you'd get that much for your money. I thought we'd done well to get a huge 4 bedroomed bungalow on 1/3 acre plot for £190k. Even our Scottish friends are astonished by the low price.
The offers over system is dying out now. Since last year we've had to get a survey done prior to putting a house on the market. The valuation from that survey is made available to anyone interested in the property so I think the way it's working out is that houses tend to sell for the asking price. Unless they've very hard to sell or very popular for some reason.0 -

can you remember this GD - not your best moment... it explains quite a lot :rotfl:Graham_Devon wrote: »So although I can see where you are coming from with the Netherlands, I could simply give you Amsterdam. I wouldn't want to see this country turned into Amsterdam, if I want that, Amsterdam caters for that. But, it has worked, in many more places than it has failed.
Amsterdamn is probably part of Netherlands of something!!0 -

Chucky, it don't make you any less weird. Infact, it would make it less weird if you had found it yourself. But instead, you say "someone" PM'ed you it, and you posted it.
LOL, well theres 2 cop outs then. You and your imaginary helper.
I've made HUNDREDS of mistakes on this forum. I'm not going to pretend I get everything right. Feel free to go find them and post them up too, or get your helper to do so, and then you post them to show me up.0 -
Oh chucky !!!!!!, we've all got stuff wrong on here I'm sure
You get what you get with Graham, & yes he opens his mouth - rather, types his posts - without thinking / checking sometimes, but thats what makes such forums interesting- its real people with real views & real circumstances & real faults. Makes it interestingbut it just gets rather tedious when the same people b!tch about the same cr*p over and over
