Hi,
A guy was going door to door earlier, when he gor to my house he showed a Scotiish power badge and started going on about a discount which is due to all customers, I said I was with British Gas for Elec & Gas so not interested in what a Scottish Power guy has to say.
He went on and then asked to see a copy of an Elec bill, and Gas bill. I obviously said to him that this was unusual and politelly told him to p**s off.
Am i right in feeling that something was not right about this, I also live in a No Cold Calling area. Should I report this to someone. Just worried as there are a lot of elderly people around thiS area who may be a little less cautious.

Report him.
If you had shown him a bill he could have all the ammo he needed to switch you without your permission.
If you do live in a no cold calling area then he was obviously there to prey on the elderly (and that is exactly what they do)
These "people" (and I use that term lightly) need to be reported to both Scottish power AND Ofgem. Something tells me that if you only complain to SP then Ofgem are unlikely to get to know about it.
Never ever entertain any of these people at the door and try to encourage your elderly neighbours to do the same.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
Hi bluenitsuj
If you live in a No Cold Calling area then our sales reps should not be calling. Calling to report this would certainly help us to trace who has been out and to ensure this does not happen again.
It would be benefitial if you managed to get his ScottishPower identification (name and number) as this would help us trace the appropriate person and relevant line manager.
If you do not have the sales reps details, we can still check against your post code to ensure our systems have been updated and all agents are aware that it is a No Cold Calling area.
Please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused by this call.
If you wish to report this via me, please send me your details and I will investigate for you.
Kind Regards
