Well - it's not got a load of muppets sat around laughing and singing in a recording studio pretending to be "real Halifax people" (when - as any fule kno - genuine Halifax staff would be sat there in sullen silence breaking from their oxygen-thieving torpor only to initiate a banal conversation with an equally hard-of-thinking colleague and ignoring the queueing customers); as such it's already far above the Halifax ad.
My personal favourite World Cup ad? Germany 2006 - Pele advertising "impotence solutions" on behalf of Pfizer.
"I don't suffer from this problem - but if you do, go and see a doctor!"
Hmmmm.
(not really - my fave's the Nike one from 2002, Eric Cantona refereeing the street-football tournament on the prison ship with an Elvis soundtrack. World Cup ads really don't get better than this
