Hi there
I moved into a new build property a year ago and was using a hell of a lot electricity in my 2 bed flat a month up until around a month ago when I switched on my bathroom light and it went bang- I called out an electrician to find out I had a screw through a live cable, Can this use more electricity with a screw through a cable?0 -

it cannot use more lecky or heat up as its only contacted one wire. you need to complete the circuit to use lecky and generate any heat.
then it would blow the fuse or trip the RCD.Get some gorm.0
