Morning all
Another day closer to the holidays.
Today I have to choose, finish the kitchen (just the dining part to do and not that major) or clear DH's computer room (deathly place and disgusting) or clear spare room (full of ebay and charity shop stuff) as SIL coming on 27th and she needs to sleep in that room and her son in Computer room.
Just realised I need to do the spare room - as I need to get to charity shop before holidays start - so thats the plan (in a while)
Financially - we are ok, not great but ok. I leant my brother £200 - hark at me - but there was method to my maddness. DH will not be working for two weeks, a break I am insisting on him taking, and so thats what we will live on!
Still haven't got a tree, DH said we should save the expenditure since we are actually away for the 2 days of Christmas, what he really means is he can't be assed to get one, cut it and put it up!LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.

Yes spare room almost done, it really wasn't that bad. More stuff needing put into boxes for Ebay and some ironing, which is done. Just need to pack up charity stuff, vacumn and change bed and then it's ready for SIL coming.
We have a small fibre optic jobbie that normally sits in the hall. I could set that on top of the pressies!!!!LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.

I now have only 4 boxes to ebay, a dramatic improvement on 6 months ago, mostly thanks to HWG and those damn challenges. They are packed up and awaiting motivation in 2011.
I am really beginning to see the benefit of my labour this year re de-cluttering, each room getting easier and easier to clean-up due to the reduction in stuff. However could still fill a skip with DH's computer carp.............but we are a lot lighter than we were this time last year, which can only be a good thing.
Two suitcases in boot loaded with stuff for charity shop, they can have the suitcases as well.

Great news on the decluttering, I am also finding the clearing up is getting easier but again this could be because most of the house has been ebayed.
Looking forward to 2011 and all it brings with it.
Does it look like you have any chance of getting to work tomorrow ?MARCH 2016 DEBT £25750/ £25035

i need to start decluttering again in this place. Trouble is i think i'm down to the things i don't want to part with but given we're in a one bed flat it's still too much stuff.
Red unfortuantely wherever we spend christmas OH and i will go together, He's stayed with my family for the last 3 years so it's only fair i go down to his, i'm hoping that we'll be able to leave at a reasonable time on Boxing day so i can visit my folks. I'll probably visit my sister and her family on christmas eve after work and have been to visit my folks today for a yummy dinner.0 -
I am fortunate that we always go to my family, sadly DH's parents passed away, so we don't have to split ourselves in two.
Making a voodoo doll as my secret santa pressie! We set a £2 limit this year to make it more fun, its just too easy to buy something from Boots for £10! The person I got has a horrible horrible person to deal with as part of her job, thus the doll!
HWG - I am going to try but the sound of cars skidding outside is not filling me with hope! Currently the temp is -6, with a drop to -10 forecast. So truely I don't really know what my chances are!LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.

HI Red, Been thinking of you in this terrible snow. I have to agree that the novelty wears off very quickly. Good to see that you are as optimistic as ever. I gave someone a voodoo doll last year for secret santa and sge loved it - but it did stand out amongst everyone else's toiletries and candles ;0Proud to be dealing with my debts, light bulb moment: 2/1/2010, reviewed 7/1/20120
