LOL at the comments - I am quite certain I am their 'do not call again' list!

Today was an ok day, very very busy at work, so whats new and the cuts will just bring in more work with less resources!! But at least I will have a job and am grateful for that!

One shop, who pay us via credit transfer on 20th of each month, 'forgot', so that means we didn't get £600 toady and will get it 'today or tomorrow'. These people do not get that we are on the worlds' tightest budget.

DH wants to call biggest credit cards and ask for interest freeze for 6 mths, I suppose it is a good idea considering out credit rating is shot! However, to take full advantage of it I would have to work very hard to clear it in the 6 mths, which would amount to £10k. A massive amount and not sure I could manage it however it would be helpful to get anything.

Today was an ok day, very very busy at work, so whats new and the cuts will just bring in more work with less resources!! Must be worrying in your line of work to have cuts. One wonders if the powers that be understand the consequences of cutting, ie in burned out staff...

Ok so 10 in 6 months is £1667 a month. You have not been far off that some months. Would having a fixed time to pay it off, motivate or demotivate you? Ie would your ebay mountain get listed or not:D:D. This is one of the best times of the year for the business I think you have said before. So maybe the thing to do, is sit down with OH. And say OK lets go for it. Get the interest frozen (assuming they say yes) and pay of 10k in 6 months. He will then get all happy about having an idea accepted. BUT THEN you have to really lay down to him that he CAN'T SPEND MONEY WITHOUT CHECKING! Otherwise it will sabotage your (ie both of yours) hard work.

IF you think he can really get a grip of this, then maybe it is worth doing.

It is also worth looking at your credit report and seeing how shot it really is before doing something, that WILL affect it.

  • Hi RMC, Just had a catch up. I didn't even know you could get a freeze on your cc interest rates! How does that effect your crdeit rating??

I imagine it kills it Cialilerin because I think it may show as a default but not totally sure.

Had to take another days' holiday - cough kept me up all night but really couldn't say I was too sick to go to work but rather just too tired.

Money all over the place, need to focus this weekend!
