FREEPOST MESSAGE 0800 9151135 Tony Williams

Can anyone help…again, you see I posted an article on 9th Feb but it was removed via the “Report Abuse” process as I disclosed an address without consent, this I totally understand but due to the way this company went about obtaining my information I feel it appropriate to re post what happened to me due to the worry it caused to me and may have the same effect on others.

Basically we received 6 correctly addressed A4 letters, 1 each day titled “ FREEPHONE MESSAGE” and to Telephone Emma Carter 0800 9151135. I called the number but first wanted to know who they were and what it was all about, the response sounded like some kind of sales pitch and I advised I was not interested. I continued to get the letters and just ignored them. Now this is the bit I didn’t like, on the 5th day a neighbor called round and told me they had received a phone call regarding “our whereabouts in the daytime” from a caller who identified himself (after being pressed) as Tony Williams, my neighbor works in the banking sector and thought this was very odd questioning and challenged the caller on how he got her number, he advised he used the electoral role and then directory enquiries. Now she made it clear she was not going to give out the requested information and he hung up. Now when she told me what happened I have to admit I was really cross and worried, why would someone want this kind of information but I then remembered the letters I had been receiving so called again and asked to speak to Tony Williams, what luck he actually answered the phone, no switchboard! .. I explained why I was calling and why had he called my neighbor, he got a bit cross and stated he would never call a neighbor for information, I pointed out that the name he had given to her just happened to be connected to his letters, he changed the subject and asked was I going to help with his “employment research” I declined and he hung on me. Now I’m still angry that a company goes to these extremes to get information and to be honest I don’t believe the “employment research” line. Now in my previous post 2 very helpful MSE members found out who the company was from the telephone number and from other information I supplied but I was all deleted when the post was removed, can anyone help again.

I hope this post has not infringed any MSE rules, I have not reveled the free post address or the Data Protection Registration number printed on the letter bottom but can supply if it will help identify this company.

Thanks in advance
David Knight :(
