I have 512MB stick which I am trying to copy some files on to but when checking the properties the disk is apparently full.

But it can't be, there aren't that many files on it.

How can i check please, I want to go home !!

    My computer

select the appropriate drive (usually F or G depending on what other drives you have connected.)

Right click and select properties and it will show you how much free space there is on your drive.

    Hope that helps!

You also need to ensure there are no system/hidden files on the stick.

So to your drive and go to tools-folder options-view then click on show hidden files and folders then apply and then check your stick to see if this has revealed any hidden items.

    All the best

You dont need to ahave alot of files stored to fill a 512MB memory stick a single file can be GB's is size so 512MB isnt alot.
saying that it is a problem with memory sicks, unplugging them and plugging them back in causes data coruption and they report the wrong amount of space being used. I regularly have to copy all the files off my memory stick then format the memory stick and put the files back on it I always find I have 50% free normally becasue I am inpatient and unplug it without waiting. well that was untill I lost it last week.
