Can anyone recommend a web design company that charges a reasonable rate?

I'm after a sort of online brochure. Just a few pages, one with an introduction, a page of products, pictures of our work etc. I've already got a domain name and a hosting service as I have a web presence already but I'm not happy with my efforts. It could be a lot better. It would be great to have an online shop too but I bet that would be an expensive route to take.
It would also have to be a site that I can access myself to do the updating of info etc. Havent a clue how much it will cost but the cheaper the better. I was thinking of seeing if my local college or university may have a student looking for some practice.Matched betting proceeds so far: £505.000
