Gas fire hole

Hi all,
Just had our gas fireplace removed by a Corgi registered workman.
We are left with a hole where the fire used to be where the prefabricated flue goes up.
We are planning to just knock a hole in wall to allow wires for plasma to go down it and get it plastered over. Is this okay? Was thinking of maybe sticking some insulating material in the hole?
Thanks

Knock a hole into the wall, brick up but also vent, and yes, lay your wires before hand, nothing worse than wires down from a wall mounted TV!0

we were not going to brick it up - just plaster over hole - is this not okay?0

How big is the hole? How do you propose it be plastered if it's large?0
-
its quite thin depth wise and about the size of a normal gas fire width and height...0
