Advent IT training provided by barclays partner finance

Hi all,

I looking for advise as to where i stand with my situation. Here is an overview of whats happened...

Enrolled on Advent IT course in October 2008 this was financed with a BPF loan (Barclays partner finance) 6k

Paid off the loan during the 12 months interest free period.

Received e-mail notification In Jan 2010 that Advent IT are insolvent and can no longer provide me with the course.

Barclays have said that they are trying to source an alternative training provider in order that they can fulfil the terms of the contact.

My question is... Under the terms of the 75 consumer credit act am i not entitled to ask for a full refund as they have not fulfilled the contract to which I signed up to. (Advent was the named provider on the credit agreement).

Any advise on this would be greatly appreciated.

    stu,
search under "Advent thread" you'll find other including me in the same boat... best advice would be speak to the CAB and consumer direct to see what help they can provide.
Might mean writing some letters and sending them off registered post, it a record that you have sent something and keep your copies of letters you have sent.
I started my course last Feb 2009 and didn't see the signs...I have paid my course in full too, so that I am not in breach of the contract.
CAB and consumer direct give free and helpful advice see what they say.
