question about claiming

I have an account with Lloyds and a loan with them for £8,000.

I want to make a claim for the PPI Insurance that I had on previous loans with them, and also unfair charges on the credit card I had with them and the previous loan when I had problems paying (about 4 years ago). If I claim against them, can they close down my bank account or demand that I pay the loan back immediately?

Fact is they can try and do what they want it's up to you not to let them. If you set out with a view to not being bullied then you should be ok.

Why do you want to claim PPI back? you need to have a reason. You can only get it back if you have a reason to complain that is was mis-sold to you. No they cannot close down your bank account or demand early repayment of a loan.
  • I have a number of medical disorders which they would never have paid out for if I had claimed as these conditions have been ongoing for the last 15 years, therefore I am unsure why they gave me ppi as I cant claim

Think it comes down to did you disclose the medical conditions at the time you took out the loan, and/or did they ask you to disclose them ?

  • they never asked me, it was just automatically put on there by them and I wouldn't have taken ppi with medical condition or without medical conditions. I would have complained earlier about them giving me ppi insurance when I didn't request it but I didnt know that you could claim if you had already paid your loan off
