Good laptops in todays market?

Hi

It’s the age old quest..what laptop to buy? Apologies if this is a duplicate of many..but surprisingly couldn’t not find any recent thread’s asking a similar question..?
Would love some advice or recommendations or good websites or even let me know your current laptop and what you think of it.

I finally can afford to buy a new laptop..yipee! I did own have the misfortune of buying one of the infamous HP Pavilion DV6000’s a few years back that were faulty and the thing was nothing but a headache! So I really really want to get it right this time. I will be using it for internet browsing, downloading (films and music) game playing and some movie and music editing (light hobbies) I would love something that operates V fast with a good memory and a decent enough battery life would also be a plus. Main thing is that it can last a few years, I know that’s asking a lot of a laptop, but seen so many of my friends laptops slow down to a dial up speed after only 6 months. I only an spend up to £500 max and definitely not buying HP again!

Thanks for reading

    Hi

I buy most of my pc stuff from: http://www.ebuyer.com/

My laptop is Fuijitsu-Siemens Amilo PI2515. I like it but the battery only last about 90 mins.:rotfl: and it's not portable. Runs well with Windows 7 (Just did a re-install as it was running so slowly). Use it mainly for browsing and Word documents.

Aren't the other laptop threads any help? Samsung is a good make.
