If the Countryside Alliance posted a few clips of this interview on their website people would be queueing up to join.0

No...
I watched someone about this last week.... aghagah cant remember the programme, but it basically wondered why the government's ad spending had gone up so much in an election year.
Lots of propaganda about etc.0 -

Labour escalated their spending in line with the polls & increased it even more in 2007 due to commercial advertisement losses due to the recession (or so they say).
They have also received numerous warning for spending Public money on Party Political Advertising as well as warnings for Party staff employed using Public funds. Not Again0 -

When an election is called different rules apply but no election has been called yet.Not Again0 -
What did people think of Gordon's interview last night? I was really impressed with how open he was being and I felt for him as he's had quite a tough life; he has shown himself to be a fighter.
Is it too late though? Personally, I am not really a Labour supporter, but I think if he's more open like that interview, his popularity will increase.
In an election year too! What a coincidence!
BTW, I'm betting that there was much that Piers Morgan was not allowed to ask.[strike]-£20,000[/strike] 0!0 -
Totally contrived cr*p. He knew all the questions before hand, being 'ambushed' with non scripted questions would not have been permitted by the Spin Doctors. It has the hands of Mandelson and Campbell all over it. However, this is the Labour party trying to cling to power at ALL costs.
I will say he came across fairly sincere, if you had not had been aware of his appaling track record, his 'previous' and his well documented temper, you could have been sucked in to thinking he was an OK guy.
Most of us know different.0 -
I'm fairly sure the only people stupid enough to be sucked in by that interview are labour voters anyway.0

Most people knew what was in the interview before it was aired anyway - it was impossible to avoid it last week - the papers quoted him verbatim and on Friday and Saturday Sky were showing extracts of it every half an hour or so.
Unless you live under a stone you can have an opinion on the interview without having sat through a whole hour of it.
I can't stand Piers Morgan and his tawdry interviewing style anyway so I wouldn't have watched it even if he had someone that I liked on.
From what I read about his questions about the "mile high club" and how many pints Gordon drank at university, his sexual conquests etc it sounds like he was every bit as tawdry as he is when interviewing people like Jordan.
Leaving aside the bit about his daughter which we have discussed ad nauseam, I just think it is really demeaning for a PM to agree to be interviewed in such a way by an interviewer such as Piers Morgan.
I'd be far more interested to see the 3 main party leaders given really gruelling interviews (not rehearsed and not wired up to their spin doctors as GB always is when he's interviewed by Marr etc) by someone like Paxman in a prime time slot and see how they all perform and react under intense pressure.
That would give us a better insight into their policies as well as their personality - would GB storm off as he did with Adam Boulton?
The debates that are planned are all very well but they will know the topics in advance and so can rehearse their responses. I'd rather see them think on their feet.
Fluffy interviews with politicians are of no interest to me whatsoever and anyone who votes on the basis of them shouldn't complain if they aren't happy after the election imo.0
