I *think* this is what we have chosen.
(NB In Australia seafood is always one of the mains)
Entree
Roasted, boned quail with hazelnut dressed roquette salad, caramelized oranges, honey yoghurt dressing
or
Skewered scallops and prawns wrapped in pancetta, fennel and apple salad, mango butter sauce
Main Course
Roasted lamb loin, stuffed with lemon, rosemary and capers, fondant potato, rustic ratatouille, lamb jus
or
Market fish, tian of Mediterranean vegetables, crisp basil, sauce epice
Dessert
Welsh Lady Wedding Cake: (NB Famous in Queensland)
Lemon Curd Shortcake - 3 layers of freshly baked butter cake sandwiched together with lemon curd
or
Not Just A Piece of Chocolate Cake - 3 thin layers of chocolate butter cake sandwiched together with her famous chocolate mousse, covered in a chocolate ganache
Afterwards
Chef's Selection Cheese Board
Tea, Coffee and Club Chocolates

Personally i think it sounds delicious .......but i love fish.
Not great if you do not like seafood or lamb throufg- having only 2 choices i think i might have erred on the boring side and choosen chicken as most people eat that
and shudder at the thought of them but are there any veggies going?:silenced:They Were Up In Arms wrote: »I think tabskitten is a crying, walking, sleeping, talking, living troll :cool:0 -
nothing wrong with vegetarians - well most of us anyway:pThe mind is like a parachute. It doesn’t work unless it’s open.:o
A winner listens, a loser just waits until it is their turn to talk:)0 -
The vegetarians can pick around the meat.
(Just kidding! I don't think I know any...)0 -

the starter and dessert sound lovely but I have to agree with tabsmagic on the mains - I'm not a fan of lamb at all and I can't stand fish either, sorry to be awkward! You know your guests though

I do have a beef option but that is wrapped in pancetta as well. I think this would look funny in both the entree and main.
It wasn't the easiest of menus to work with. And they are not flexible at all
The other option was salmon with smoked salmon and scallop mousse - which I thought was a bit OTT and I am already serving scallops in the entree.
My family are sheep farmers so would like to support the lambs!!0 -
No poultry option?...then again, I can't talk, we can't agree on our menu - we like all of every choice so can't narrow it down!!:rotfl:0

Suprisingly no - no poultry option. Very strange indeed.0

I think your menu looks delicious...I'd have trouble deciding!
We are having trouble trying to match our foodie tastes to those who have lots of dislikes or like really plain food. At the end of the day we have decided that it is our first meal as husband and wife and we want to have a memorable meal...and as we are paying if anyone really doesn't like any of the options we'll just have to get them some crisps from the bar or something!!! I've asked everyone to tell us if they have any dietry requirements as it is standard practice in most places to accommodate these if told in advance.
There will always be someone that doesn't like something - (too fancy, too plain!) - you know what you and your nearest and dearest like so go for that!0
