Dyson !!

Options
I've had a dyson for 4+ years - not a bad cleaner.. But it started cutting out recently. I rang the helpline number and a man talked me through a series of tests whilst on the 'phone. Anyway - to cut a long story short - he concluded with the info that the first batch of blue dyson's had a fault ... and that provided I hadn't done anything I shouldn't with my machine (!!) that they would send an engineer around to replace the motor.

A week later, at the appointed time - the engineer came. He tested it all, replaced the motor and the 'baffle' bit at the top-and replaced the clear bin as well. That was all FREE. He charged for a new brush as mine was damaged, and a hose that I had ripped, and I bought 2 new attachments that the dog had chewed. Result £42 and what amounts to a brand new dyson. WELL DONE DYSON

Well I've recently been in a similar position with Hoover. Two identical machines and three burnt out motors. I've had a hoover engineer tell me (off the record) that it was far from uncommon and I've found others on the net who have had similar 'bad luck'.

I've written to Hoover twice and they don't want to know. I guess it will be a Dyson next then!
