For long term cheapness (and the environment) get Sanyo Eneloop or Ansmann MaxE rechargeables (search in Ebay, not expensive). These are new tech and beat the old NiMhs hands down. My Ansmanns perform like new Alakalines after each recharge - last ages in use and keep their charge like an alkaline does, even when not used for months. (And recharge in conventional NiMh chargers).0

Would be nice for you to narrow it down slightly, there are laptop, mobile batts to M\board Watch batts, then of course the aa\aaa and rechargeable's non rechargeable's. theres a huge list or a massive array of batteries

For pill and unusual batts I use http://www.smallbattery.company.org.uk/ - read the code off the bottom of old batt, then order online pay by Paypal. I always buy 2 of a type. Unlike a shop, they give advice on what type is right/cost effective for the purpose. This is all cos buying pill batts in ordinary shops is a) Expensive and b) Very time consuming. You CAN buy a big pill battery assortment pack in the £1 shops, never tried it though.0
