Mac syncing software

Does anyone have any recomendations on a good program to sync folders from a imac to a external hard drive the folder size will be large as it contains music files i used to use sync toy any input would be appreciated

    Its a command line app that i use on all my linux boxes to back them up.

    Some other possibilities if you don't like the terminal route:

    1) Automator action - download (and modify if needed) and run. A forum member previously shared that one on here. I can't recall who posted it.

    2) ChronoSync - paid for application which works well.
  • I use synkron to sync my music to an external drive so that I can sync it between my windows laptop. If your just using it to back up, have a look at apple's built in time machine

    I am only a week into owning an imac so it's all quite new to me yet and still getting used to it i have used time machine to back up so far so good. I was using synctoy to sync files in the past and got used to that and always used acronis to image drives. So i will just try a few out and see what i'm comfortable with.
