can anyone tell me how you can check what GB you have on your laptop, my friend got a laptop from the home access scheme and paid extra for a 2gb instead of a 1gb???

Presumably you're talking about the RAM, and presumably you're running Windows?
If it's Windows 7, then go to Control Panel, then System & Security. Under the "System" heading, click "View Amount Of RAM & Processor Speed". Then see what figure is given next to "Installed Memory (RAM)".
Let us know if it's not Windows 7.0 -
Assuming you are using windows -
open the control panel
click on the "system" icon
that should give you details of the memory and the processor.0 -
