Insurance while on gap year

Hi - I wonder if any one here can help please? It's not strictly speaking a gap year, as it seems to have become a gap life!
My daughter is on an extended working holiday in New Zealand. She now has had her visa extended for two years. For the first, we paid her insurance via STA, initially for six months and then an additional six. This seems to be an expensive way to do it though. We paid over £200 each time.
Does anyone know a cheaper way of doing this? She needs all the usual stuff like medical insurance, not least as she will again be working in a ski resort for the winter season.
Thanks

How long will she be abroad for? Some people in this situation have had difficulties in being considered UK students on their return.0

That's a good question! It started as six months over a year ago. She is only permitted to stay in NZ on her present visa until next January. Then she either needs to move on (Japan has been mentioned as the next venue) or go for residency (as her boyfriend in a New Zealander.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0 -
Use a comparison site like this one. You'll want to use the "backpacker & long stay" option.
Thanks very much for this link. It's much cheaper than the insurance she's had so far. I may need to go direct to the companies though as I'll probably be doing the payment.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0
