Radiator panels?

Doesn't the ENTIRE outside wall leak heat?
I have a solid wall, so can't have cavity wall insulation.
There seems to be a thermal panel/layer you can add to the interior wall,
but the extra thickness makes the window shelf look funny.
Ideally, I would like some sort of thermal plaster which does the same job.
Hi pincher, yes i think the outside walls and roof all leak heat and this is what myself and others need to try our best to stop. My house is well insulated thanks to the warm front grant a few years ago, with cavity wall insulation and thick roof padding.
I am trying to be more money saving as I have more time at the moment to plan new actions to bring down my ( and help others) fuel bills.
Once you start looking more and more good idea's come from the old style site and by looking around the web. If you or any other folk have some good money saving idea's for saving on gas and electric PLEASE post.
Sometimes I think you have to spend out a little to start the saving.
I think if you post asking for help with your solid walls, idea's maybe thrown out?If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

The tooth design traps still air behind the radiator insulating the radiator from the wall. The heat will rise and spin out into the room, improving heat distribution, reducing the time it takes to heat a room and save us money.
So if you line the whole room with these pads no heat will escape?;)0 -
I've always avoided investing in these as I've never seen anyone say they are of benefit. And the question is.. if lining behind a radiator was effective, why don't radiator manufacturers fit at the back of radiators as standard to improve the rated outputs?0

Did anyone watch the Tonight program about rising fuel costs, where they took a thermal imaging camera on the outside of the house to see the worst heat loss areas? The area behind the radiator on the outside wall was the worst, foil was used on the wall here to help.Herman - MP for all!0
