When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :D

Goooooood morning.......I'm first am I?!
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend.....quite a quiet one here (when do I have anything but?!)....and just slept til 9, bliss, love half term;)

I have Tesco coming at 11-1....and I need to try to do my essay plan, but am struggling...boooo.
Ok, list for today:
  • check banking....move Paypal money that's arrived.
  • daily scratch
  • meal from plan tonight - turkey kebabs and rice
  • take turkey out of freezer
  • nip to council offices with HB form all filled in...checking up on me I think, but nothing's changed, I still have not much money!!!
  • washing on airers...then to airing cupboard
  • heating on low
  • NSD apart from food shopping
  • post 2 ebay sales
  • answer question about another ebay item
  • maybe dig out more stuff to sell
  • think about what else I need to do this week!!!
Right....must get dressed:p
Have a lovely day;)

PS Lurleeene - your little boy in the supermarket gave my daughter and I a big giggle, bless him:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Good morning all and tis my first day off of 2 so am going to get focused (says she till in PJs at 11.30 :p

    However already I have:
    • wrapped 1 e bay and 1 Amazon parcels to post later
    • done scratchies/freebie games etc
    • checked banking and moved paypal money towards CC Clearance
    • checked ebay for 10 other items finishing today - some quite good bids so yeah!

and consequently I shall this afternoon:
    • wrap all the e-bay that's sold
    • deal with mixed emotions regarding above as is my late husbands train stuff but have held onto it for 4 years and it's time to let go :( (in lots of ways)
    • do some fly lady in house as it's looking a bit dishevelled including change bed and more hokey cokey dried indoors on laundry rack (tis one of those old style ceiling ones and I do love it)
    • walk dogs
    • make lovely supper from stocks
    • try and not spend but might be tricky - we shall see
    • scrabble around for yet more e bay items
    • demolish terramundi pot and bag up contents to put towards car insurance, car tax and MOT which are all due in next 3 weeks
    • designate and start new sealed pot for car expenses for March 2011 (now that is a bit tooooo organised but has to be done)

Think that might just cover today so better get a shufty on

    Will call in later

    Afternoon all!
Just back from doing my "skills" tests to allow me to qualify as a teacher - all 3 passed and out of the way now, thankfully. Managed them first time so feeling a little bit smug!

But, I thought that I'd do my bit and get public transport into the city centre to do the tests and save some money on parking etc - not a chance of saving - £4.80 on tram fare, £3.50 to park at tram station, £3 on drink whilst waiting for tests (can't trust the trams so went an hour early to make sure I'd be on time) - came out of the test and found out that the carpark would have been £3 - grrr!
Won't be doing that again in a hurry - and we're supposed to try to leave the car at home......will be sticking to my little environmentally friendly car for the foreseeable.

    Today's other things to do...
    • Walk dog for free exercise
    • Cook OH fajitas for tea to use up grumpy peppers and onions in the fridge
    • Phone bank to pay last installment of loan - hurrah!
    • Phone CC company to cancel PP (am now officially a student so have no job to lose anyway!)
    • Do one load of washing and dry on radiators and airer
    • Put other dry washing away
    • Clean bathrooms
    • Fill in a job application for a teaching post
    • Write a plan for work to do during half term
    • Do any surveys that come
    • Stay in and watch the soaps tonight
That's it for today - have a good one!
  • Hello late again

    Today
    OH to airport
Working in field - dog with me - so good for exercise
    Checked banks
PAD of odds and sods into DS savings account
Email a pal later who's birthday is this week
    Baked tatties for tea
Bought lunch today - argh - but not very organised today
Print off DD homework at home if I can get printer online
Measure up for curtains in campervan

Hope you're all good - our half term was only 3 days last week and I worked for all of them xx

Put three jackets in the wash including Pint's ski jacket to be washed and waterproofed
Been and got fruit and stuff from Asda and popped in Aldi - got a spray oil thing which should reduce the amount used - only spent a tenner in total
Do my task for uni tomorrow.
