    Firstly, most of these bags are not from charities at all, even though they go to great lengths to give that impression.

    Secondly, I prefer to call them 'free bin bags'.

    I use the bags to take my stuff into my local Hopice shop that is still run by volunteers and still really have the 'want to help' ethics. It saves me having to buy bags in a supermarket as I don't have many carrier bags lying around anymore like I used to.

    Totally agree. I'm getting more and more of them - an average of 2 per week.

    i got one from a company called rutex ltd the other day http://blogs.mirror.co.uk/investigations/2009/09/warning-this-rutex-clothes-col.html beware!
    The tip off was the awful spelling, but i check the bags against the internet now and i think maybe 1 in 10(or less) turns out to be for an actual charity!
    I also use them as bin bags!!
