My hoover died on me and I bought one advertised on Gumtree. The couple were moving house and selling a few things. We tried it in their house for a minute & it seemed ok... got it home and there doesn't seem to be much suction at all. Have we the right to take it back and demand money back ? It was only £25, but I don't like to feel I've been conned:mad:

No rights at all.0

The fact that it worked but has poor suction are two different things. It may be a useless model with poor suction even when new..................

Your rights? The seller cannot state anything that is blatantly not true, but beyond that it really is a case of buyer beware.
So, unless they it works fine and it'll suck paint off the wall at 20 feet, I don't think you would have any comeback.0 -
dont be sooo tight next time. vacs are cheap enough at argos or even a stiff broom will work wonders.
Perhaps your carpets are more soiled than the previous owner0 -
