    that is interesting Olias..

Mr Lahey, you have received a lot of support, kindess and empathy on here from people who have no duty to do so, no vested interest, but have given you their time and consideration just from their generosity of spirit. I haven't posted, but I have read the thread, and been touched by some of the personal stories people were ready to share, and the kind and thoughtful advice they gave to you.

Perhaps you could think about passing some of that good will and generosity on to some of the other people you come across in daily life - perhaps especially kids on horses...? They may annoy you, but they are just out enjoying the fresh air and time with their pets, much as your kids have loved and enjoyed your dog - show a bit of humanity, it makes you a bigger person.;)

To be honest, I really hope you were just showing off in your earlier posts, or looking for a reaction, and do not act like that in real life....?

Well I felt really sorry for you hence my post - but my daughter has a horse and it is ignorant individuals like yourself that cause accidents.

I sincerely hope that we do not come across you, because we would have absolutely no hesitation in reporting you to the police for driving without due consideration to other road users and doing whatever was necessary to get you a long suspension to protect other road users. Just remember what goes around comes around.

I really hope that you are not as nasty as you appear to be, because if you are, I feel very sorry for your poor children growing up with an idiot like you as a role model!!

    Well said FC!!

I was going to add my comments about putting the dog on Propolis, I have seen and had wonderful results from doing this with my dogs and friend's dogs.

    Olias

How i get frustrated by horse riders where i live, or how i let my tyre fall 0.2mm below the legal limit has absolutely nothing to do with me wanting to make my dog - a member of my family - suffer less and enjoy the last chapter in her life as best and as comfortably as i can make it.

We all no doubt think or do things which others might not agree with. My post here is genuine and for you to hijack this thread with something you don't agree with in my opinion is crass and uncalled for. I do however notice you didn't post how i dislike animals being kept in captivity and how i have argued this extensively. No coincidence i'm sure.

For all the advice i have had so far i thank you. It is a difficult time and when i was younger i always struggled to understand how people could grieve an animal. It's only now that i realise that grief is not for an animal but for a member of the family.

Mr Lahey, being frustrated by horse riders is one thing - I am sure we have all had those moments - I know I have - but driving your "Audi A4 within an inch of them at 60mph" is entirely another - and could leave a family grieving not only an animal but a child too.

I do hope this was idle 'forum bragging' and not really something you do?

Re: your dog, I think a trip to the vets would be wise, just for a general check up, and to make sure she is not in any pain and that her slowing down is just old age, and not any related or underlying conditions - eg. she may be sore if she is becoming arthritic, but she does not have to be - some simple pain relief (for example) could improve her quality of life for the time she has left.
  • Hmmm

Driving past a horse close and at speed could very well result in 1 rearing horse, 1 child\adult on the floor and fatally injured and a grieving family. Not to mention a tragic waste of life all due to ignorance and a bad attitude.

The only sympathy I have now is to your family and your poor children who will grow up under your influence.

    Disgusting

I couldn't care less about the depth of your tyres and probably nor do most of the other posters but what I care about is what you said about deliberately driving up close to some poor horse to deliberately frighten it. I really do feel for you regarding your dog but I find it very unusual for a dog lover to have such an uncaring attitude towards other animals.

It was of course an exaggeration and posted as a wind up - i would have thought that was obvious.

Such a shame this thread has taken such a turn. Thank you for the help and advice thus far but i guess the thread ended a few posts ago.

    Thanks again.

It is very hard on the internet to read 'tone' - ie. whether something is totally sincere, posted for effect, to win a battle, to shock... we do not have the advantage of tone of voice and body language. I hoped it was the case that you were exaggerating...

    Good luck with your dog.

Well I am pleased to hear it was a wind up but no, I did not think it was obvious that it was just that. Sorry but it was a stupid thing to post on here amongst a board full of animal lovers.
