Mummyof5 - take care of yourself - the mess can wait

Hello Flyers, thanks to Pigpen, Toots and Soapie for kicking us off again for the nemesis week of half term.

I have 4 children and DH to care/clean/cook for this week. DD1 is in Paris with her friend celebrating friends's 18th birthday so I will use this opportunity to really go to town on her bedroom. She will be furious  but it might teach her a lesson.

    My list for today

    5 x wm
    5 x td
    2 x d/w
    hhi x 2
try and sort out summer holiday

Well, havent quite done as I said, but done most of it. The cold that started last week, that I thought was getting better is still lurking and as I have been busy in the kitchen for the last approx half hour, I am now really tired and dizzy, so will sit and write for a bit instead. Maybe that's why I had the inspiration wake up??

Anyway, what I have done is:
    written intro to chapter
    got dressed
    had breakfast
dealt with a package that arrived by courrier - book on shelf, packaging either in bin or recycling as appropriate
sorted some other recycling (not a lot, mainly food rubbish into kitchen composter)
refilled bird table (still have to do the other feeder, but mty excuse is it's cold and foggy outside Brrrrrr!)

Happy birthday to Vanilla and Thrifty, and welcome to all the new people.

What a slow start to Monday morning. I didn't get up until 7.20, took DS1 to the paper shop, made breakfast for me and DSs and a cuppa for DH, made packed lunch for DS1, took DS1 to school for Y11 half-term revision and caught up with thread (How can that have filled almost 3 hours?)
Now I really need to get started.
A HHC won't get me far, so I'll start with DW and WM and then keep going in the kitchen. DH will be home for lunch around 12.30. I'll post an update just before then.

I am in again this week, hoping they won't keep me in at the hospital so I can do everything. Can I be excused cleaning the top of the cupboards, a broken arm and no balance are not a great combination:eek:

DS1 has already cleaned the kitchen and DS2 and DD have done the dining room. They have all done a great job :D
