Hi all
Hope everyone is well, if not, take it easy.
I had another hectic week, could not follow the thread and fell off 'the cleaning during the week' wagon, back on Tuesday. But, I climbed back, so am happy to report that Tue, Wed, Thur and Fri are all done at all levels (even with some extras)
This week's cleaning discovery was hot water with soda!!! I heard about it a million times but never tried myself. We have been in our flat for over 10 years, and people before us smoked indoors. I thought that I wiped all nicotine off the doors years ago. Even last week, the duster did not show much. But today I tried hot water and soda solution. And, oh, boy.... the water and duster were BROWN :eek::eek:
I am off now to watch the box with a long drink.... Might even organise a monopoly game tonight.
The only chore left now is to bathe the kids before school tomorrow and get them in beds by 8.30 (ambitious, I know :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)
Keep well, everyone.
Katia

It is all once again nice and clean and tidy:j
Still finding food remnants up there though:mad: mainly crisps and sweet wrappers
When she went on her school trip in half term, I gave her a loan of one of my Kipling bags ( I was feeling generous:D) and I opened it to discover it was full of food remains and crumbs:eek::eek::eek::mad::mad::mad::mad: and even worse, she has taken off my monkey
So she will be getting NOTHING off me in future:cool:

MrsChaos – Meal plans don’t work here as, you can guarantee, if I cook something DD has made plans for the evening or DS decides to buy himself food and comes home full.
That's one of the reasons why I have not bothered up to now, but it means that I'm often stuck for things make or I'm missing essential ingredients. Thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences with meal planning. I've now got a cunning plan. I'll start with a list of meals we all like (or at least tolerate) and make sure that I've got everything in to cook these. I'll try to plan ahead, but will prepare for swapping and changing (or freezing DS1's portion). It's got to be worth trying.
I'm really pleased with myself today, as I've finally managed to complete Level 1 in each room (and more in some). :j:j:j I know it doesn't sound like much and it's taken me absolute ages to get to this point, but I'm proud of it. I hope I can keep up better during the week, because that's always been the main problem.
Will have to stop keeping up with the thread until tonight, because I've really got to get on with work now - and cook tea in between.0 -
Sorry lol they are on my lists, I only have two to do but I am not looking forward to it, I am so not creative and my kids both want my help
I raided the poundshops last year for a cheap straw hat (took off the horrible plastic flowers), fake grass to glue on and some kits to make decorations. Admittedly, a very creative friend put the lot together for DS2, but I'd have done it myself otherwise. He made a little nest on the top with a bunny and some eggs, and stuck little chicks and other things around the rim. It looked great and as DS2 has just moved schools (and I know where the hat is) we can recycle it this year.
The year before I bought one of the Easter bonnet kits from the ELC, tore and screwed up crepe paper into little balls and covered the hat with it. Also stuck on eggshell-halves (washed first) with little chicks in etc. Can't remember all the details. HTH.
Just thought, have you tried google for ideas?0 -

Jacky, hope you had a nice time xx
Thanks for asking (& Juliejim) we did although the weather was very cold for the last few days (10C with a really cold wind when average temps for feb are 24C)-so unfortunately we weren't able to do the outlying islands as we'd hoped. We did go to see Lantau Buddha but it was 2C on top of the mountain - DS2;s lips were blue!! It was great being there for Chinese new year though. Kung Hei Fat Choy everyone.0 -
DH back and furious that the dump will not take the stuff as they are jobsworths.
I have been filling in an ISA transfer form.
Need to move now as my feet are cold. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
