Abs
Options
Just after a little advice if its possible with the little info that I have.
T reg audi a3 - ABS light keeps coming on and the breaks are making quite a noise although the breaking doesnt seem to be affected.
I'm just looking for a ball park figure of how much this may cost to fix.
Thanks in advance

No, not those type of abs.
Cost depends on what exactly is wrong. The ABS light can mean any number of things and brakes making noise, if it's closer to a grinding than a squealing you more than likely need new discs and pads due to the pads being worn down. Need for new discs could have been prevented with servicing and replacing pads before they got worn down.0 -
Thanks for the pic
And the telling off
I would say its more than a grinding than a squealing. Its as if the resistance you get when the ABS kicks in is making the noise (does that even make sense?)

Sounds like the pads are worn through. Not sure of the price, but if it's only just started, you might get away with new pads. More likely, it'll be new pads and disks.
Unless you mean that the sound is on and off, and slows as the car slows, in which case it might be crud on the disks or a damaged disk.Fight Crime : Shoot Back.

Sounds like it is an abs issue rather than pads/discs, get it looked at by someone who can diagnose by looking at the fault codes0

yes sound like an A.B.S problem could be a sensor has gone, or out of line with the A.B.S ring on the C.V joint or the ring itself has a chipped tooth or something trapped between the ring and sensor like dirt build up or a peice of bag has wrapped around it a fault code diagnostic should tell you the problem.
when a sensor has gone the foot brake will give "feedback" like the discs are warped and can feel like grinding.0 -

no he shouldnt really.
depending on fault, you have to pay for the fault code read obviously, if its the sensor then it relitaivly cheap part and doesnt take long to fit.
then vat+labour on top. source out a reputable garage that has been recommended by a few people pop along and ask.0 -
