My gate not fixed

My gate is on its hinges and is solid enough, but the bit it latches onto has come off the wall, was not even proper holes drilled into the wall so there is a gap.

Its been like this since before xmas due to really cold weather making it loose. One of my friends was supposed to call to fix it today. He did not turn up thanks very much.

Anyhow I'm on the single and in debt thread and have no money to repair it. I can't repair it myself as the drill I have is not powerful enough to drill with correct drill bit and I am not that strong either and i always do my own diy if I can do it.

so I am unsecure as regards my yard entrance and want to know how much I should expect to pay for a new gate or new edging strips for both sides that the gate goes onto.

Its just a single 5' 8" size gate with latch.
