How much of your bandwith does watching the odd video on YouTube use up? Thanks.

    I reckon that watching YouTube videos uses around 6 Mega Bytes a minute.
    (I used arithmetic instead of software).;)

    Are you asking how quickly the data is being transferred (throughput) or how much data is being downloaded, for example for a 1 minute video?

    Some are higher than resolution than others, download some kind of freeware bandwidth counter if you want to know for certain but a budget of 1GB per hour of playback seems reasonable

    This might be the case for those HD 720p videos that are on YouTube now.
    My result was based on the flash video format.

    just download a meter like http://www.thinkbroadband.com/tbbmeter.html tbb or dumeter will show all network traffic up and down which is where it will all count so many isps out there with there magic limits alot of people dont count there up as well into the figures.
