New Boiler Instal

Hi Everyone

Looking at having a new Valiant Combi boiler installed, can I install it myself with help, and then have it verified by a corgi registered gas fitter?
Just trying to save some cash by supplying and then fitting the boiler.

Any help/guidance will be appreciated

Thanks guys.

Its Gas safe now not corgi.

Theoretically you probably do as you say but to actually find a gas safe man that will be willing to sign off will I expect be almost impossible, why would they risk there livley hood for a few quid signing off some dodgy DIY job.

The majority of us would never take on a job like this.

Whoever did it would then be legally liable for it.

If you did find someone to do it, it would probably cost £300-£500.
  • Thanks guy's, I thought as much (sometimes it's not worth risking saving a few hundred pounds in the long run). Roughly how much do you think it would cost to have a mid-top range vailiant combi boiler installed by a certified tradesman and where would you recommend to find such a fitter?

Again thanks for all your help

From your very limited details posted, all I can say is that depending on what part of the country you are in, expect to pay £250 - £300 + VAT a day labour.
  • Make sure your water pressure into the house is monitored !!!

Next door to us there has been a massive fire which has taken firefighters 8 days to put out... they had increased pressure from Yorkshire Water board and many of our neighbours boilers broke due to the increased pressure of 1.2 Bar - nightmare for all of them
