Hello all
What is recommended for re-sticking in to the channel in the door the asbestos type rope stuff which seals it. (It's not actually asbestos rope of course but it looks like it ) Tried superglue but not really satisfactory.
Thanks folks.

I've always used 'water glass' ......... more commonly used for preserving eggs! Look at the 'refractory use' heading here :-

- but it's not commonly stocked now and a proprietary glue such as this is more readily available :-

When I was little, we used to store eggs from our chickens in Isinglass. The eggs were in a bucket up in the bathroom and I can remember hating to be sent up to bring down some eggs on a saucer. They were all slimy and rolled about so you had to hold them down. It never occurred to my to take a cereal bowl, which would have made the job much easier.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
