Does it have to be a repossession? How much extra will you pay for one?

Obviously not only a repossession, hilarious joke.

What I am trying to do is find out alternative search strategies.

I am wondering if there is a way to identify repossessions across a wide area in much the same way as it is easy to quickly identify auctions because they are listed separately to rightmove.

Searches for a specific price bracket across a very wide area on rightmove returns masses of results and I am only interested in non-citylocations. Unfortunately there is no boolean "not" search on rightmove, so you can't say Hampshire NOT Basingstoke NOT Southampton for example.

So you have to include a wide area e.g. within 25 miles or just conduct lots of specific searches on specific towns/villages. Obviously as one person suggested I could conduct all these specific searches and then get them set up to email me every day with properties in those areas in a particular price bracket. That way I only have to do the miriad of mini searches once.

    bored yet?
  • Not bored. Just still confused why it has to be a repossession.

The reason I would search for them is because reposessions in my area are significantly cheaper than other property - on the few rare occasions in the last couple of years when they have come up in rural areas.

Obviously if one entered into a bidding war it might be different.

I asked how to identify them, if indeed there is a way to do this that I haven't thought of, in much the same way that you can identify houses at auction very easily.

I did not say "I am only looking at repossessions whatsoever in my house search".

Oh no! just been trying out the save search email thing and apparently:

"Sorry, you already have 10 searches saved and this is the maximum we allow"

    doh!
  • Set up another account with another email address = another batch of searches you can create / save :)
