Please help...advice needed

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone can help me...My 7 yr old daughter had a birthday party in a soft play area on Friday 12th Feb and there was an agreed minimum charge of 20 children, although I had booked for 23 children they said I would only have to pay for 20 if less than 20 came...so only 17 children showed up but I was charged for 23 as I paid before the actual party started and I did not notice until today when I found the receipt...I then phoned the soft play in question to query this and they said they will ring me back tomorrow as they are busy today but it may not be possible to refund me for the extra 3 children I have been charged because its 2 days later than the actual day and that I should have came to them after the party and questioned it then...are they allowed to do this? (I paid by credit card by the way)

If they said you would only have to pay for 20 if less than 20 came (which was the case) you should query it.

You have to think, though, whether they'd record the number of children in the area themselves. If not, they might be reluctant though I'm sure to keep you sweet they'd probably refund the money for the extra 3 kids.

Wouldn't hurt to ask anyway but I don't think there's anything you'll be able to do with your credit card.

Thanks Rufus_328...thats the thing I did ask them and they said I should have asked on the night before I left but I didnt notice until yesterday and I am waiting for them to ring me and let me know...I filled in a guest sheet with the kids names on it and they were supposed to give me a copy but they never did

They will still have a copy I'm sure.

Thanks guys...its all sorted now...ive just rang them up again and spoke to the manager and she said not a problem what so ever and I explained that the duty manager yesterday said I may not be able to have a refund and she said its not her decision...just come in and get a refund...Tozer its not much...£20 but still £20 is £20 lol
