    hi moofie,

Sorry to hear your at a dead end with where to go next. I have been selling wholesale on ebay and via a few webshops (this is now my third different one) for a while. My repeat customers seem to be growing now as well so they seem to be making money otherwise i guess they wouldnt keep purchasing. I used to break down the lots i now sell individually and was doing well (around 150 sales a week on ebay alone) but i just couldnt keep up and decided to move into selling joblots to allow people who do have the time.

That's good to hear, I presume if you have returning customers you are selling something that people want more of. I suppose that may be where I am going wrong too, as the niches I have thought of I guess people wouldn't need to return to buy more regularly.

Hmm that's something for me to think about.

Is £17k the actual threshold for working tax credits? Tried to do a check on entitledto.com and it was vague on that - have a colleague who needs to know - and if DH gets made redundant next month (has been told it's him or his boss!) WE will need to know!

Thats what the woman on the phone told me, £17k is the threshold for WTC. Mind you, we dont have kids so it could be different if there are kids involved. 0845 300 3900, option 2 then hold (or check that saynoto0870 website for 01/02 number for cheaper rate)

  • yes well i dont have a niche market really. ill probably get told off on here but i sell wholesale lines of new and used clothing on my site. I keep my prices low to make small profit (around 10% profit margin currently) and allowing someone who has the time to break down them to sell singley. I've Pm you regarding some help if you like as well. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this site as well. I have had 3 sales on my webshop now so doing well.

moneymabel and mrs money - try this link - http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/TaxCreditsandChildBenefit/TaxCredits/Gettingstarted/whoqualifies/index.htm

    edit - its £17,900
Sorry, because your total income is more than £17,900 a year, you probably don’t qualify for tax credits unless either of the following applies:
    • your partner is 50 or over and going back to work after claiming qualifying out-of-work benefits and will be working 16 hours or more a week
    • your partner has a disability
Still think you qualify? If you think you might qualify or aren't sure, you can:
    • call the Tax Credit Helpline on Tel 0845 300 3900 or Textphone 0845 300 3909 (open from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm, seven days a week except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day)
    • fill in a more detailed online tax credits questionnaire to get a more accurate result

Mabel The new seren collection is beautiful. I love the blue charm bracelet.
When I click on each individual image it says blue charm bracelet at the bottom. Is that one of the tweaking jobs you still have to do. Forgive me if you already know about this but I was just trying to be helpful xx

Ok, productive day so far, doing all I can to stay positive and more importantly busy!

Have an interview next tuesday and have to take a copy typing test and an excel test lol, not worried about the typing one as I type 90 words a minute with a 98% accuracy, the excel one however can be tricky as there are soooooooo many features that I have not had to use in a long time so trying to figure out the best way to give myself a little brush up. This job pays well, am up against a few others as well.

Have also rinsed off my poor car, I see that it is still a pretty metallic blue under all the grime!

Cleaned the litter box much to the appreciation of the kitty
have sent off 7 more CV's and had one slight disagreement with an agency.

Thank you so much Jo for emailing me that list!! There is at least one on there!!

Now going to work on coming up with new wordage for the gumtree ads.

Something is going to give at some point, it has too!!

mimms - i have a shockingly s**t credit rating, so much so that the halifax refused to give me a personal bank account last week, however Barclays gave me a business account 2 days ago with 18mths free banking a business advice line, a debit card, cheque book and over £2500 worth of software inc accounts and marketing. Don't have a clue what to do with it mind, but I have it! Went in this moring to pick up acc no and bits. There only spec for an account was no bankrupcy or CCJs on your file.
