Is it true that First Direct will give me £100 just for leaving them?

I left and got my £100 after I complained the internet banking was constantly having outages (which was entirely true). The amount of times I saw "we cannot process your request at this time" was mind-boggling.

Also, the one time I called them, I had to explain my situation in detail to three separate people, which got a bit tiring. I would have rather had the automated menu so that I was put through to the right person at the outset.

Then, they didn't pay me the £100 leaving bonus after saying they would, and I had to write in and complain before I got it. Keep in mind though that this was over a year ago, perhaps they're better now.

I think First Direct are overrated. Sure they answer the phone when you call them, but is that worth £100?
