Loancheck/Watsons Solicitors

Just for everyones information
The lady that runs Stokes & Co is a former watsons employee that worked out of the loancheck office near shrewsbury.
She ran the legal team at loancheck along with a barrister they had allthough i cant remember his name
I believe she was then poached by black knight to create a new solicitors practice in telford, and occupies or did occupy the office that black knight used to trade from as i received literiture from them at this address about being and introducer of cases to black knight (not a chance)
I believe from my research and speaking to the people on the ground that Stokes and Co was set-up and funded by black knight as somewhere for them to put all the cases they have, most of which are some 2 years down the line still having not been placed with solicitors.
I would consider all of this before you think that your cases being transfered from one firm to the next is a positve step in the right direction.

Hi
I couldnt comment on there being anything sinister going on as i dont know, I just wanted to inform people that i believe that Stokes & Co is run by a previous employee of watsons / loancheck and now runs a this solicitors that was formed by black knight into which people have stated their cases have / are being transfered to.
If i had a case with them personally i would pull it out and see if i could find a another solicitor to run it no win no fee, as this seems a little odd to me, the whole black knight purchasing the cases etc and forming a solicitors to put them in etc does not ring true for some reason but then that is just my personal opinion.
To be honest i am that confused after reading through the posts on here, despite my initial involvement with them, how loancheck was even set-up with the multitude of companies used, and where black knight fits into this.
There are a mass of things that i dont feel stack up with the black knight / loancheck scenario, i am in the process of trying to find out as much as i can about the relationship between both companies and the reasoning behind what seems to me like the re-birth of a new loancheck type model within black knight
Once I have a more clear picture of what is going on I intend to post it on this site to try and help people as much as possible understand what has gone on
I do know however know that a certain person i have previously mentioned that is involved with black knight has been investigated before for fraud in a previous company they ran, now i am not saying in any way shape or form this is the case here as this is just information i came across on google during my searches but personally i would not like either of these companies handling what as Maxdp has stated is some peoples houses and lives due to reposessions etc with the volume of negative complaints i have seen and heard on here and elsewhere.

I think that as regards Loancheck cases people should get it in writing from solicitors what has happened to their cases and if they want to move on to another solicitor (personally I would move on to FOS through the insurer and hope that FOS gets jurisdicition issues sorted! but then again that is only for PPI misselling and not what people were led to believe from posts on here in that they could virtually wipe out their debts for irregularities in their agreements) then do so but just be VERY careful in what you are signing and also "make complaints" about the service or lack of that you have received up to yet.
Its sad when you have to sign something with a solicitor and you have to think about getting the contract that you are signing checked by another. Wouldn't you think being a solicitor they would have your best interests at heart. Seems to be not the case with this lot.
Also if you are at threat of repossession genuingly (and not everyone that used loancheck were, lets face it, it was a way of not paying your debts for some i would think and playing the system TBH) then get in touch with the mortgage schemes etc. I do hope that people can sort things out without the need for "either" company. Some will get repossessed, that is life, everyone cannot be "bailed" out but at least now there is more protection than there was years ago through the authorities.0 -
It is very difficult to know what to do here really. I keep coming up against a brick wall. I am still waiting to hear back from the Administrators. They like information from us but are not too keen to answer my questions. Well have just sent another e mail so will wait to hear.:mad:0

Hmm that could take some time. All she was initially interested in was Data Protection and who had what documents.:mad:0

Good Luck
If Black Knight have funded this new firm as you say isn't that a positive as it shows some committment and a belief in the cases that they are running?
Why else would they invest their money?0 -
I do not know, I am just repeating what i have been told, allthough this is 2nd or 3rd hand information so i cannot be 100% of the accuracy
However i wonder what counter measures have been put in place as to not overload it with cases and grind it to a halt, much like what seems to have happened to watsons
I am simply saying that it all seems a little odd to me, given that i know black knight were sending out emails a few months back trying to offer their services to other solicitors as a friend of mine received one.
Does anyone know if they have any other firm's they can place peoples cases with or not?
I am sure Thomas will shed some light on this subject being the man in the know0 -
