Every advert for reductions always say "selected stores only" and "subject to availability". That always seems to be the case no matter which store it is.If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550

I don't object to that, what I object to is putting in the small print. They are telling you it is available in selected stores only, but making it as hard as possible for you to see it.0 -
Many thanks for all those that replied, I really appreciate your views and findings, just to clarify my point, to me selected stores means one of the different types, Express, Metro or Superstore as it was in NONE of mine locally it should have read "Selected Towns"
I have related the matter to the ASA can't wait to see what they say.
No response from Tesco Customer Service, does it exist?

If they advertise an offer then the "in selected stores only" bit should be just as big and prominent as the offer. By tucking it away in the small print they are hoping some people will not see it, and go to their local store for the offer.
And if it isn't available in their local store, they will buy something else instead.
The advert will be legal, but IMO it sets out to deceive people, therefore it is wrong.
ye si see what you mean but its up to use to read the ad, if we dont read the ad properly then its not tescos fault is it0 -

Depends on how you look at it. If someone sets out to deceive someone, and they succeed, who is in the wrong, the person who allowed themselves to get deceived or the person who set out to deceive.
I think it is up to tesco to not try and deceive people with their ads.0 -
Got this ok at Bracknell today ( Martins Heron).
Please remember that quite often the labels haven't changed but the price has changed .
At our store ( last week before my well earned holiday ) there were over 1,000 reduction and start of offer labels to be put out at one time.
