So there we are, its arrived from Amazon and still sat in the box.
No Tv yet to plug it into as its not arrived, so using the laptop at the minute.
I was wondering what updates people have been putting on this, ive heard that the flash can be an issue on iPlayer.
I plan to run a setup as..
Just, wondering how the sound will perform, and if the quality will be good through the HDMI cable from the Netop top the Tv -> DVD Player.
The DVD player is 1000w (DVD Player, bluetooth receiver, Radio etc so should be good for an all round sound system).
Any ideas.?

I'm thinking of buying one of these, so would find it interesting to know how you and others get on with it. Will be following this thread.

It appears that no-one else in the world has one of these, and im too wait until the tv arrives.
I dont even know if the HDMI output is turned on from build. I hope it is, as i dont have a VGA lead, nor monitor.0 -
I went ahead and got the AS ROCK nettop and have been very pleased.
Went for the 330HT-BD (w/ remote + BluRay)
Tried with both Ubuntu and Win7. Prefer the Win7 install. Found all components/drivers with no problems. Went to ASRock website and did a couple of updates.
Installed XBMC and it's been a dream - fully customisable Aeon skin. (Can look up on YouTube for instructions)
Re-audio - I've utilized the 7.1 stereo and hooked it up to an amp and it sounds brilliant.
Only minor flaw is the small 320GB storage, but as I've networked it to a home server, it's not that big a worry.
If anyone is on the fence and thinking about it, I highly recommend it.0 -
Ive no idea what you have said in the above post, but i guess it sounds good.
I know that 250GB isnt that much of a big space, but for 100 Euro ive seen a 1TB external hard drive.
I think that should be good enough for backup's / media storage.0 -

.
Sorry, I should clarify.
A common usage for these nettops (Revo R3610 or Ion 330HT) is as a media centre connected directly to your TV.
The low power consumption makes it ideal for a media centre as it can be kept powered on for extended periods of time.
There are people have created some good software called XBMC that is better than Microsoft's in built media centre that's included with Windows 7. (You can also use XBMC with Linux)
A good video showing the functionalities are posted here0 -

I have my 3610 connected to the AV Receiver, as that has HDMI switching (single connection going to TV).
The 3610 used the HDMI from the start (I booted it connected) and can do 1080p 1920x1080 full HD display with the ION graphics.
The various players I loaded (XBMC/iTunes/MCE/foobar2000/VLC) all sound fine.0 -
Well were now going to use the optical out from the Revo R3610 to the DVD / Av Receiver.
It appears to be setup as plug & play from the start, and adapts as you plug things in.
Ill take a look at XBMC, is it free and is there a genuine site to download it from.
