Worcester greenstar help please.

Hi all,
we have a greenstar 24i junior boiler less than 3 years old.
It has started to develop a fault where it delivers no heating/hot water and the blue light slow flashes, the lock out button flashes also.
when we reset it will work for a few hours and then it happens again.
My main question is,we had a downstairs shower room added last week(electric shower, toilet, sink, replacement rad) could this have caused problems with the boiler?
builders have also been cutting bricks/making cement adjacent to the flue(?) outside.
the work is being done under a disabled facilities grant and has been a bit of a nightmare.
also am I better finding a local engineer to fix it or joining a scheme lke B.G?

The fault will depend whether the blue light is on and flashes off, or off and flashes on.
Typical Worcester rubbish design as per usual.
If it is the first one then it could be a flue blockage.
Another one is if it is flashing quickly, which could be a new pcb.
Go outside and check the builders haven't dropped anything into the flue.
Other than that, as Worcester boilers are a right PITA to work on, I always advise getting Worcester in on a fixed price repair.
they made them, let them fix them.
Another option (cheaper) is to get BG in on a fixed price repair of £168, but if any parts needed they would probably have to order them.0 -
Right,
the blue button is off flashing on,slow.
orange reset button is flashing,no service light on.
I just phoned worcester and its £250,the boiler was never registered (thanks Eaga!)
unfortanatly there is no way we can pay that this month.
he did suggest using the filling loop to up the pressure but it doesn't appear to be working??(pressure is just in the green)0 -

Have you tried pressing the reset button?
The pressure should be about 1 on the gauge. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Have you checked your flue from outside?0

I have had a quick look but I am not sure what I am supposed to be looking for.
It just looks like a fancy pipe to me,oh says he is sure that there used to be a cover on it but I don't remember TBH.
The builders have had a cement mixer right under it though(its outside the kitchen) and have been cutting blocks/bricks right by it.0 -
Right,
had BG out to it today.
2 engineers,
first guy said it was crap that had gone into the condense pipe
"cause your builders have been using a cement mixer right under it"
the second guy(after chatting to the builder outside) said it was "shale" in the boiler not caused by the builders.
are they telling porkies do you think?0 -

I'd go with the first 1, but unless you get this in writing you have no claim.A thankyou is payment enough .0
