Just wondered if any one is or has studied social work at Edinburgh Uni. There seems to be a lot of social work students on this board and would love to (kind of) know someone when I start.

I'm studying MA Social Work, at Salford Uni though.
http://www.studentsocialworkers.org.uk might be a good place to look for people too.0 -
Thanks. Will check it out. A quick question about the MA, how much personal studying do you have to do each week? And what exhausts you the most, is it attending class/ study or is it placement? Am a little bit fearful of hard work...0

I'm starting (Ba hons) social work in September! I think our enrolment starts 18th september, but every Uni probably has a different timetable.I'll be at University of Central Lancashire. Have you secured all of your funding yet? Mines done thank goodness! Now am just waiting in nervous anticipation!
Good luck with it! Perhaps we can report back to each other and let each other know how we are both getting on.Sam0 -
I have applied for funding, just waiting for a reply. The worst part for me is finding suitable accomodation in a place 250 miles away. Its not that easy when youre as fussy as me! Goodluck with your course.0

The MA I'm on you are expected to do pretty much all the research and information finding yourself. It's hard to start off with if you're not used to research.
I'm personally finding the placement exhausting, but that's probably because I'm working part time as well. While doing placement we also have to do 4 assignments, which is extremely challenging.0
