Slightly off the beaten track but we used it and had a fab time - http://www.the-beeches.co.uk/index.php
The house bit is really nice but more expensive and hard to deal with big numbers in, so we used the Pavillion, which although more hall like was very well presented, and you can have all the doors down the side open onto the patio. Can't be certain as its over ten years since we used it, but on our day no-one was using the main house so they were fine with us having our photos taken in the grounds of the house - obviously if another wedding was in there then that might be more difficult. If the Sharon Barr listed as the wedding co-ordinator is still the same Sharon (name sounds right) that did our wedding ten years ago, she was absolutely right on the nail sorting things out for us, and worth the fee in her own right. Nice straight forward food, sensible on a buffet for the evening (as in they said they wouldn't work on numbers as no-one really bothers with the food - for £500 they'd put out a good spread and if we needed more they'd have stuff that they could add - bear in mind that's ten years ago prices!). We had 100 people for a sit down meal in the Pavillion and had a really great time. Got married in Bath and no-one minded a 15 minute run across to the near end of Bristol.
ETA - Should clarify that we had both sit down main reception then evening reception there so the £500 was the top up for the evening food - the whole bill was obviously higher but we didn't spend a lot on our wedding so I'd be willing to guess it is worth looking at with your budgetAdventure before Dementia!0 -
Another venue we've used for work functions which might be worth looking at if you've not already is Cumberwell Park Golf Club - really nice upstairs room with bar - can be divided in two so if you don't need it massive then you can just have half of it. Not so sure if its budget prices though. (Just outside Bradford on Avon on the A363).Adventure before Dementia!0

Queen Elizabeth ll stayed at The Cross Hands during a blizzard in 1981.
its close to chippenham bristol and wiltshire and dead easy to get to
you can even stay in the royal suite if you want to have that royal feeling :rotfl:
I dont know much about weddings but they appear to have a very good offer on at the moment for weddings - 50 people at 1000 pounds whether you only have one sausage on a stick each and and have to sing for your supper i have no idea but its def worth looking at :rotfl:0 -
